Second attempt for Dickie Day at Sandford

Dickie Davies, president of Sandford Springs Golf Club, will be making a second attempt to host this year's rescheduled annual president day.

The event, originally planned for May, was cancelled because of poor weather conditions, but everyone at the club is hoping that second time round, the weather will hold for a great day.


The legendary sports broadcaster (pictured in action), most famous for presenting World of Sport, will be teeing it up at his home club on Saturday, September 13. Dickie will officially start the rescheduled event by driving off the first tee at 8.30am.


Players will be welcomed on arrival at the club with bacon rolls and coffee before play and a full carvery upon completion of their round in the club's Rosamund Restaurant.


The day's format will be fourballs with the best two scores to count on each hole. Traditional tees will be used with the men off the yellows and ladies off the reds.


The winners will be presented their prizes by Dickie at a special ceremony in the clubhouse after their round.


There will also be a nearest the pin competition.
